Simplifying Calculations - 1

It is difficult to calculate mentally but once you start doing it you start enjoying calculations, moreover it saves time. We can use the short cut methods to verify our answers also.

Let us discuss some techniques.

1. Finding square of numbers between 50 to 60.

Let us take number 54. We can calculate using traditional way. It is 2916. Short cut method is 

Step 1- Add the right digit i.e. 4 to 25. 4+25=29.

Step 2- Square the right digit i.e. 4.       4x4=16

Step 3- Answer is 2916.

56 x 56 = (25+6)36 i.e. 3136.

58 x 58 = (25+8)64 i.e. 3364.

I believe that there is so much to learn in the world that one life is not sufficient. As I am growing older my curiosity is increasing to learn more. Like youngsters even I want to learn different ways to connect to the world. I had been teaching Mathematics to classes up to senior level throughout my life on BLACK BOARD may be green in colour. But now I want to share with all whatever I learnt while teaching using different platforms.
I believe that every child has infinite potential to learn. To learn Mathematics one should think logically and act rationally. It's okay to be irrational sometimes.
I believe that Mathematics prepares us for life. This is the subject which shows ' Every problem has a solution'.
