Writing a School Math Project
I decided o design some school level Math Projects.
While doing so, I crossed many memory lanes and reached to my school days. the time when Math was taught in a broadcast manner. Teacher used to explain everything on black board and we used o copy from he board without asking any question or doubt.
Whenever we tried to find a relation between Math and the real world we were given example of buying vegetables and grocery which needs calculation. no other connection was shown to us .
we were not told that MATHEMATICS is used in
- planning travels.
- cooking.
- fashion industry
- music compositions.
- dance formations
- designing buildings.
- drug composition.
- film making
- planning investments and calculating risks.
- computer programming.
- traffic management.
- Defence sector
- Astronomy
- Genetics
- Data handling
- knitting
The list is endless. what I have learnt today is that Mathematics is a Life Skill which is essential for every field of life.
It is essential that at school level, children are encouraged to explore the relationship between Mathematics and real world.
